The UN counted last year's 20 million refugees who sought refuge elsewhere because of a conflict. Most came from Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia.
Europe currently has 76 million people born elsewhere. Of that group, 12 million live in Germany and 9 million in Britain. The United States is counting 47 million people who come from elsewhere. Russia is home to 12 million and Saudi Arabia 10 million people who come from another country.
The UN refugee agency UNHCR draws this year, 7.1 billion euros for assistance.
