The Indonesian island of Lombok is facing a malaria outbreak after a series of earthquakes in July and August, causing hundreds of thousands of people to leave their homes. The authorities have declared the emergency medical condition.
The earthquakes that hit the Indonesian island of Lombok on Sunday have again killed several people. Victims have also fallen on Sumbawa. The emergency response service BNPB reported five deaths and dozens injured on Monday. Other sources say that at least eleven people were killed, two of whom were affected by a heart attack.
A day after the heavy earthquake at Lombok, foreign tourists try to leave the Indonesian island on Monday. There are long lines of waiting at Mataram airport and airline Garuda is using additional flights.
The Indonesian island of Lombok was hit by an earthquake with a force of 6.4. According to the authorities, at least 10 people were killed and 12 wounded and many buildings suffered damage.
