Rescue workers in Japan are still searching for survivors of the earthquake that hit the country last week. So far counted 39 dead, but dozens of people are still missing. One of them is probably trapped under the rubble of several collapsed buildings. About a thousand people were injured and a quarter million people have been evacuated.

The death toll from the earthquake two days ago continues to rise in Japan. At least forty people were killed by the quake on the southern island of Kyushu, reports including The Japan Times.
