Writer alphabet detectives died at Y

She wrote a whole series of detective novels with titles that always started with a next letter from the alphabet.

Her daughter Jamie posted a message on Facebook this evening in which she reported the news about her mother and at the same time announced that no more books will appear in the detective series about female detective Kinsey Millhone. 'Hello dear readers,' she writes. 'This is Sue's daughter Jamie. I'm sorry to tell you all that Sue died last night after a two-year battle with cancer. '

'Sue always said she would continue to write as long as she had energy for it. Since it was known that Sue did not want her book ever to be filmed or turned into a TV series, she would never have wanted a ghostwriter to write in her name, 'Jamie knows. 'From the deep love and respect for our beloved Sue, the alphabet concerning our family ends now with the letter Y.' The book Y is for Yesterday is her last book.
