Weiner gets 21 months cell for sexting

Anthony Weiner, former American congressman for the Democrats, has been sentenced by the New York court to 21 months of imprisonment for sexting with a minor.

Weiner (53) had made an appointment with the court prior to the sentence that he would not appeal if his penalty would be shorter than 27 months. Weiner's lawyer pleaded in vain for a conditional punishment for his client. Weiner would 'suffer from an uncontrollable disease. 'The judge did not participate in this.

Weiner's case shone on the campaign for the US presidential election. Huma Abedin, the wife of the Democrat Weiner, is a friend of Hillary Clinton and she also participated in her election campaign. Abedin has requested divorce from her husband.
