US soldiers are going to help in Mozambique

The US government has decided to send soldiers to Mozambique to provide assistance in the areas where the devastating cyclone Idai caused a humanitarian disaster.

While the precise needs are still being identified in consultation with the Mozambican authorities, the equipment that is needed is being prepared. In the first place, this concerns helicopters and vessels. The Indian army was the first to respond to the emergency situation with the deployment of three ships and several hundred men. South Africa is participating in the rescue operation with various helicopters.
