Turkish police arrest terror suspects

The Turkish police have arrested at least 29 people in Ankara who would have links with the Islamic State terror group.

Turkish prosecutors had ordered 46 people to be arrested. They would in most cases have a foreign nationality. Some suspects would have been busy preparing for a terrorist attack on New Year's Day, the source said. The police are still hunting the other suspects.

An alleged IS-trailer committed an attack on a nightclub in Istanbul last year around the turn of the year. This caused 39 people to die and many dozens of people were injured. The Turkish police later arrested an Uzbek suspect.
