Three killed by bomb attack in south Thailand

In a market in the southern province of Yala in Thailand, three people were killed by a bomb explosion.

The south of Thailand is more often startled by violence. The Asian country is predominantly Buddhist, but the three southern provinces of Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat have an Islamic majority. It has been very uneasy since 2004. Since then, more than six thousand people have died.

Last year it was relatively quiet. The regime in Bangkok then tried to negotiate with the rebels, but those talks failed.
