Tens of thousands of French people without power through storm

Approximately 30,000 households in the French region of Brittany are without electricity due to the storm Carmen.

For about forty departments in the west of France, code is orange. Meteorologists reported wind speeds of up to 120/130 kilometers per hour. The newspaper Sud Ouest warned against waves of 6 to 9 meters high on the Atlantic coast.

Especially at the mouth of the Gironde, the authorities are extra alert because the river could go beyond its banks.
