Red Cross helps victims cyclone Mora

The Red Cross is working with man and power at work in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to help victims of the cyclone Mora.

How many people have died on the other side of the Gulf of Bengal in Bangladesh is not yet known. The area around Cox's Bazar, south of Chittagong, is severely affected. In that region, another 70,000 refugees from Myanmar are living in difficult circumstances. They are fully dependent on humanitarian aid.

The Red Cross has helped Bangladesh in recent days to evacuate a million people and prepare for Mora. There were 55,000 volunteers in rope. Their effort will also be needed when the storm is erased. Large damage to homes and crops is expected.
