Manchester wants to make Ariana Grande honorary citizen

The City Council of Manchester has plans to make Ariana Grande Honorary Citizen of the City.

The chairman of the board mentions the aftermath of the tragedy after the concert of Ariana, 'an appropriate moment to look at the way we honor memorable contributions to the life and success of the city. ''

After the attack on 22 May, the 23-year-old singer organized a benefit concert in Manchester, where millions were picked up for an emergency fund created after the drama. According to the local council leader, she is an example of the resilience and sympathy of the city, showing 'love and courage instead of hate and fear' in the weeks after the attack.

The plans for the amendment will be discussed in the council on 12 July.
