Google will warn in an emergency

Google will soon introduce a new feature in its search engine and in Google Maps.

Users get a warning about an incident in a red bar when they search for a topic or at a particular location, such as flooding or forest fire. For example, they will get an overview map, the most important messages and emergency numbers, websites and translations of useful sentences. People who are near an incident also get a notification on their smartphone.

SOS Alerts is currently available in twelve countries including the United States, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and Brazil. Presumably follow European countries later.
