French ex-minister new chief Unesco

The board of Unesco has chosen French ex-minister Audrey Azoulay as new boss.

Azoulay received 30 people in a mood, Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kawari rivaled from Qatar two less. The 195 members of UNESCO must approve the election on 10 November.

The election comes a day after announcing America and Israel from Unesco. They do so because of their anti-Israel attitude within the organization. Among other things, UNESCO is known for its World Heritage List, which protects cultural sites and traditions.
