Former President Georgia Saakashvili arrested

Former president of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili, was arrested Tuesday morning in Kiev.

Saakashvili climbed onto the roof and threatened to jump. Riot police, according to Ukrainian media held curious people at a distance.

Saakashvili, who is married to the Dutch Sandra Roelofs, has been living in Ukraine for three years.

The stateless former president has a conflict with the president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, who does not shy away from using government officials against his political enemy. It is not clear what complaint there is against Saakashvili.

Saakashvili was the driving force behind a 'march for impeachment' that was held on Sunday.

Saakashvili and Poroshenko were once allies, with the president even making him governor of the province of Odessa. At the end of that term the atmosphere between the two soured.
