Emergency state of emergency in Montreal

Canadian authorities have declared emergency in Montreal.

That's what the BBC reports. Parts of Canada are already struggling with severe waterfalls that are caused by continuous rainfall and melting snow. Nearly 1900 homes in the eastern Quebec province ran underwater. The authorities have deployed 1,200 soldiers to assist in evacuations.

Also in the city of Rigaud, west of Montreal, the state of emergency has been declared. The mayor ordered commanders to be evacuated, if necessary, to be evacuated. 'We stopped them in boats and they cried like babies,' said Mayor Hans Gruenwald Jr. 'They were no longer in a position to decide on their own future. '
