Delhaize stops cooperation with slaughterhouse

The Belgian supermarket chain Delhaize has stopped cooperation with the affected slaughterhouse in the Flemish Izegem with immediate effect.

The slaughterhouse of Izegem came into play after undercover images of the Animal Rights Organization Animal Rights. The organization found out with a hidden camera how beef in a slaughterhouse of Verbist in Izegem was severely abused.

According to a spokeswoman for the group Ahold Delhaize, the meat in question is only delivered to Delhaize supermarkets, not on the Albert Heijn chain.
