Coptic church refuses to receive Pence

The Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt refused a request from the American Vice President Mike Pence to come to the audience.

According to the church, the American decision comes 'at an undesirable moment' and is not taken into account 'with the feelings of millions of people,' reports the state press agency MENA. Pence travels to Egypt at the end of this month.

The recognition of Jerusalem has put a lot of bad blood in the Middle East. Pence is not welcome in the Palestinian territories either, according to the government party of Mahmoud Abbas. He would also pay a visit there.
