Australia finds a submarine after a century

Australia has found a very old submarine.

The HMAS AE1 sank with 35 Australians and British on board. It was the first loss of the Australian navy in the First World War, as well as the first allied submarine lost in the war. There has been uncertainty about the cause of sinking for more than a century. The boat then took part in the occupation of so-called German New Guinea, which included some islands in Oceania.

The submarine was searched at intervals of 103 years. He turned out to be at a depth of 300 meters, according to the BBC. The government has said that the next of kin of the crew members will receive a message. There are no concrete plans to store the 55-meter long HMAS AE1. The boat was built in 1911.
