scottsdale - US police have arrested a 83-year-old former priest for a murder in 1960. The man, John fact, was arrested in Scottsdale in Arizona, after a Texas jury had indicted him for murdering a 25-year-old woman in the state says US media Wednesday.

Irene Garza, a teacher and former Miss Texas, then disappeared after they went to confession the priest. She was last seen at the church where that happened, in McAllen. Her body was found five days later dead in a river in Hildago County. She was raped and strangled.

Fact has long been in focus as a suspect but was never prosecuted. It is not clear what new clues are making it now been charged.
