lyon - Around 800,000 people in the southeast of France are experiencing a loss of mobile phone services and limited television reception due to a suspected act of sabotage on a communication tower near Lyon.

Approximately 800,000 individuals in the southeastern region of France are currently facing a disruption in their mobile phone services and are experiencing restricted television signals. This issue is believed to be the result of arson on a 90-meter tall communication tower located in the town of Cenves near Lyon, as reported by the broadcasting organization France Info, citing network operator TDF (Télédiffusion de France). A TDF director has described the incident as a "certain criminal act." The operator has stated that the damages incurred are "enormous" and that efforts are being made to fully restore the services within the next 24 to 48 hours, with technicians and law enforcement authorities at the scene.

The motive behind the incident remains unclear at this time. However, TDF has reported previous instances of sabotage. In the recent past, during the time of the Paris Olympics, an anarchist group claimed responsibility for setting fire to a transmission tower.
