- Norwich City's manager aims to keep Josh Sargent amid transfer rumors as the USMNT striker shines with three goals in the new season.

Norwich Aims to Keep Josh Sargent Amid Transfer Speculations

Norwich City's manager, Liam Manning, expressed his desire to retain Josh Sargent following the striker's impressive performance, scoring in three consecutive games at the start of the season.

Manager's Hopeful Stance

Manning hopes to avoid bids for Sargent before the transfer window closes, highlighting the player's professionalism, work rate, and leadership qualities.

Sargent, who recently netted his second goal in two Championship matches, has been a subject of transfer talks but Manning remains optimistic about retaining him at Carrow Road.

Impressive Track Record

The 25-year-old striker, who moved from Werder Bremen to Norwich in 2021, rejected a transfer to Wolfsburg this summer. With 15 goals in the previous season, Manning praised Sargent as the 'best Championship striker' after his recent goal against Watford.

Despite his club success, Sargent has faced challenges in the international arena, going over five years without scoring for the USMNT.

World Cup Prospects

Sargent, with 28 caps for the USMNT, is a potential candidate for the upcoming World Cup in the United States. However, he has yet to replicate his club form at the international level.
