new york, usa - A judge in New York has announced that the sentencing for US President Donald Trump in the hush money case will take place on January 10th.

New York Judge Juan Merchan has revealed that the sentencing for US President Donald Trump, found guilty in the hush money case, will be given at a hearing on January 10. Merchan stated that Trump can attend the hearing either virtually or in person.

In his written verdict, Judge Merchan emphasized that 'by resolving this matter definitively, the interests of justice will be served', indicating that Trump's sentence will be determined at the hearing on January 10.

Merchan implied in the verdict that instead of a prison sentence, he will opt for a conditional release sentence for Trump, provided that he is not arrested again.

The judge's decision is seen as a step towards Trump becoming the first president to take office after being convicted of serious crimes, just ahead of the inauguration ceremony on January 20.
