masyaf - Israeli Air Force reveals details of a complex military operation in Syria, targeting an underground rocket factory funded by Iran.

Israeli Air Force has disclosed information about a recent military operation in Syria, aimed at destroying an underground rocket factory named 'Deep Layer'. The facility, reportedly funded by Iran, was utilized to supply Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon and support the Assad regime in Syria. The construction of the underground factory began in 2017 after Israel destroyed a surface missile factory in Jamraya, southern Syria.

'Deep Layer' was built approximately 70 to 130 meters deep in a mountain near the village of Masyaf in Northwest Syria. The factory was capable of producing 100 to 300 rockets annually with a range of 300 kilometers. Positioned strategically about 45 kilometers from the west coast of Syria, the facility provided Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon easy access to the rockets.

Israeli forces had been monitoring the weapon factory for years before finally launching the operation on September 8th. Elite units Unit 5101 and Unit 669 conducted the mission. The Israeli troops, including helicopters, combat aircraft, and drones, carried out the operation with precision, diverting enemy radar detection by flying low and conducting distraction attacks on other sites in Syria.

The troops reportedly infiltrated the factory using existing equipment and deployed nearly 300 kilograms of explosives throughout the facility. They quickly accomplished this using a quad bike and confiscated secret documents before detonating the explosives and leaving the scene unharmed. The entire operation, lasting less than three hours, resulted in significant damage to the factory, while Israeli media reported zero casualties on their side. Syrian sources, however, claim there were casualties among the local population.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the operation, highlighting it as a crucial preventive measure against Iran's attempts to arm themselves against Israel. 'We were determined to take action,' Netanyahu declared in response to the successful mission.
