The European Union has announced a new humanitarian aid package worth 148 million euros for Ukraine, where the war continues. According to a written statement, approximately 12.7 million people in Ukraine are in urgent need of assistance, and the new aid package aims to meet these needs. The statement from the EU Commission revealed that out of the total 148 million euro aid package, 140 million euros are allocated for humanitarian aid efforts in Ukraine and 8 million euros for Moldova.

Following the new aid package, the total amount of humanitarian aid allocated by the EU Commission to Ukraine since the beginning of the war has exceeded 1.1 billion euros.

Hadja Lahbib, member of the EU Commission responsible for Preparedness, Crisis Management, and Equality, shared on her X account regarding the aid package, stating, 'With the new 148 million euro humanitarian aid for Ukraine, we are providing life-saving support to people and assisting in rebuilding communities. The EU stands firmly with the people of Ukraine when they need it.'

Meanwhile, Lahbib, who went to Ukraine yesterday to examine the EU's humanitarian aid efforts, is expected to hold meetings with high-level officials, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, as part of her visit.
