Doubling victims internet scams

apeldoorn - The number of consumers and businesses which last year lost money on scams on the Internet, almost doubled compared to 2014. The Fraud Helpdesk scored 3625 reported the previous year against 1887.

The more than 3,600 victims went to the boat in a total of 12.2 million euros. The end of 2014 totaled 8.3 million loss reported. Most of the victims went missing in the shop with fraud and with purchases in Marketplace. They paid well, but were not delivered.

The Dutch who deal with internet scams, reported 10 to 13 percent this at the Fraud Helpdesk, research shows.,, The actual figures on casualties and damage amounts therefore considerably higher, '' concludes the organization.

Tuesday, police arrested four young men from Bodegraven on, on suspicion of large-scale fraud through Marketplace. The men, two of twenty, one of seventeen and eighteen, smartphones and concert tickets include more would have offered for sale through Marketplace.

People paid for but did not receive the purchased items. The police got in this study within 58 declarations of fraud between November 2013 and late 2015, but assumes that there are more victims.

How much money have earned the men with their practices, is not clear.
