Colombia sends pork chops to Venezuela

In order to make the Venezuelan holidays more enjoyable, Colombia has sent 22 tons of pork chop to Venezuela.

It is tradition in Venezuela that chops are eaten at Christmas and during the turn of the year. The left-wing government of the Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro had promised the residents that there would be enough pork available for Christmas, but that was not the case.

Out of anger about the lack of sufficient chops on the shelves, many people took to the streets. They threw up blockades in the streets, set garbage on fire and called slogans to Maduro. He blamed abroad for the lack of pork chops. Portugal, among others, would not have fulfilled the promise to deliver pork.

Venezuela has been in an economic crisis for years. As a result, there is a lack of life and medicines. Inflation is sky-high.
