China designates nature as big as France

China has identified fifteen areas around which a \u0026 # x27; red line \u0026 # x27; is drawn and where economic development is prohibited.

China wants to detoxify large agricultural areas and reduce the use of pesticides. Beijing must feed the mouths of one fifth of the world's population with just 7 percent of global agricultural land.

The country is also engaged in a afforestation campaign and wants to plant trees all over an area as large as Ireland.
