orebro, sweden - Salim Iskef, a victim of the Swedish school shooting, managed to call his fiancee to express his love before passing away.

Salim Iskef's Final Moments

Salim Iskef, a Syrian-Orthodox Christian who fled the Syrian civil war in 2015, was studying to become a nurse assistant at Campus Risbergska. The adult education institute primarily focuses on students with a migration background.

After being shot, Salim called his fiancee, Kareen Elsia, to tell her he loved her. They were supposed to get married on July 25. Kareen received a FaceTime call and saw a bloody Salim on the ground, conveying that he had been shot before the call abruptly ended.

Kareen criticized the police response time, believing that if they had intervened sooner, Salim could have been saved. She has not been able to see her husband's body yet. Salim, who had obtained Swedish citizenship, was described as a kind and thoughtful young man by a priest of the Syrian-Orthodox church in Örebro.

The identities of the other victims remain unknown. The Swedish government plans to tighten regulations on semi-automatic weapons in response to the shooting. The police found three guns with the shooter, Rickard Andersson, who had a gun license.
