Senegal Overcome Early Scare to Beat Sudan 3-1

Senegal secured a comeback victory against Sudan in the AFCON last 16 clash in Tangier. Despite falling behind to an early goal by Aamir Abdallah, Senegal regrouped, with Pape Gueye scoring twice and Ibrahim Mbaye adding another goal to seal a 3-1 win.

Pape Gueye's Heroics

Gueye equalized just before the half-hour mark and then struck again from the edge of the area in first-half stoppage time. His goals turned the tide for Senegal, showcasing their resilience and determination.

Senegal's Dominance

After a slow start, Senegal grew in confidence and control, overpowering Sudan in the latter part of the first half. With Sudan unable to maintain their early momentum, Senegal's quality shone through as they secured their victory.

Ibrahim Mbaye Secures the Win

Substitute Ibrahim Mbaye sealed Senegal's triumph with a goal in the 77th minute, ensuring their advancement to the quarterfinals. Despite Sudan's spirited start, Senegal's depth and skill proved too much to handle.

The win sets up Senegal for the next challenge in the AFCON as they look to continue their quest for a second continental crown.
