President Mohamed Muizzu claims to have broken Volodymyr Zelenski's record with a 15-hour press conference on the International Day of Press Freedom.

Setting a New World Record

The press conference started at 10:00 AM on Saturday and extended past midnight, where President Muizzu answered journalists' questions, surpassing Zelenski's 2019 record.

International Attention

Leaders in the Maldives have a history of attracting global focus with unique actions. In 2009, a predecessor of Muizzu held an underwater cabinet meeting in a diving suit to highlight climate change.
