OnlyFans: A Platform for Extortionists and E-Pimps

- Investigation reveals dark side of OnlyFans with cases of coercion, exploitation, and underage usage.
Dark Reality Behind OnlyFans
An investigation by The Mirror uncovered over a thousand cases involving OnlyFans over five years, revealing instances of coercion and exploitation. Some women were forced by partners to perform on camera, while others had their videos resold without consent, often as an act of revenge.
OnlyFans, a UK-based company valued at five billion euros, boasts 4 million content creators and 300 million subscribers. However, the platform's success has a dark side. Cases include women being coerced into creating accounts and performing explicit acts, with earnings often siphoned off by partners.
Instances of extortion have also been reported, with users being blackmailed for money under threat of having their videos shared publicly. The platform's lax age verification process has allowed minors to create accounts, raising concerns about child exploitation.
Despite claims of collaboration with law enforcement to prevent abuse, OnlyFans has faced criticism for not doing enough to protect vulnerable users. Legal action has been limited due to the challenge of proving intentional harm in these cases.
