Obama distrustful Arabia

- US President Barack Obama Wednesday to visit the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud and other Arab leaders in the region in the Saudi capital Riyadh arrived.

The relationship between the US and the oil-rich monarchies on the Arabian peninsula has rarely been so bad. This is partly due to the recent US overtures to Iran, according to Arab leaders also of the lack of initiative from Washington regarding the conflict in Syria.

The TV normally sends the arrival of an American head of state extensively, but this time the Saudi viewers had to miss. Obama spoke after arriving with King Salman in the lead up to the summit Thursday of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). That is a partnership between six Arab countries in the Persian Gulf (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates).
