Aston Villa Discussing Future of Liverpool Loanee Harvey Elliott
Aston Villa's manager, Unai Emery, is engaged in discussions regarding the future of Harvey Elliott, who will be absent from the Europa League clash against FC Basel. Elliott, on loan from Liverpool, needs to participate in 10 Premier League matches to trigger a permanent transfer.
Uncertain Future for Elliott
Despite only featuring in seven games for Aston Villa since joining on deadline day, Elliott's future at the club remains uncertain. The 22-year-old midfielder faces a crucial decision as his playing time has been limited, with just five Premier League appearances, including one start.
Emery expressed, 'We are speaking with him and about his situation. He is on loan playing with us, but he is not definitely adding to us with a permanent contract. Hopefully we can get the best for him and the best for us.'
Emery's Statement
Emery added, 'I respect him as a player and as a person. He is training well, but we have one circumstance with him. Hopefully we can get a solution for him to try to play consistently and try to continue in his career with us or not.'
