north korea, usa - North Korea refutes US accusations of international cyber attacks, labeling them as baseless slander and false allegations.

North Korea Denies US Cyber Attack Allegations

North Korea has dismissed US claims accusing the country of being behind international cyber attacks as unfounded slander. The North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesperson accused Washington of trying to create a 'non-existent cyber threat' towards Pyongyang.

Rejection of Allegations

The spokesperson described the US accusations as baseless slander aimed at tarnishing the country's image. They emphasized that linking such activities to North Korea is a unilateral claim.

Cyber Piracy Accusation Against Washington

The spokesperson criticized the US for portraying itself as a 'victim' in this area, considering the US government's control over global information infrastructure as a reason for launching cyber attacks on other countries.

New Sanctions on North Korea

In November 2025, the US government sanctioned some North Korean bankers and institutions accused of laundering funds from cyber crimes. The US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on 6 individuals and 2 entities associated with North Korea-related operations for illegally transferring income through digital assets.
