Netanyahu Reacts to Court Refusing to Postpone Corruption Trial

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his discontent after the court denied the request to postpone his corruption trial, stating that he had engaged in diplomatic meetings with world leaders in the past 24 hours.

Busy Diplomatic Schedule

Netanyahu highlighted that he had discussions with 4 heads of state, including US President Donald Trump, and undisclosed Arab leaders, emphasizing the sensitive nature of his engagements.

Allegations of National Security Concerns

Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz claimed that Netanyahu's corruption trial poses a threat to national security, suggesting that Netanyahu had to respond to urgent calls during critical security situations, thus justifying his absence from the trial.

Netanyahu Facing Corruption Charges

Netanyahu is facing charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust in three separate corruption cases known as Cases 1000, 2000, and 4000. US President Donald Trump had previously sent a letter to Israeli President Isaac Herzog in November 2025, requesting clemency for Netanyahu in the corruption cases.
