france - In several cities including the capital Paris, a wave of arson attacks occurred in France. The Ministry of Interior reported that nearly 1000 vehicles were set on fire and over 400 people were arrested.

Recent reports from France revealed that a series of arson attacks took place in multiple cities, with Paris being one of the affected areas. The Ministry of Interior stated that around 1000 vehicles were burned and more than 400 individuals were taken into custody.

Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau condemned the perpetrators of the attacks and expressed his condolences to those whose vehicles were targeted due to lack of parking spaces, referring to the perpetrators as 'cowardly outlaws'.

On the night of New Year's Eve, 984 vehicles were set on fire while 420 individuals were detained, with 310 still in custody according to the Ministry of Interior.

Retailleau also reported incidents of excessive use of fireworks resulting in injuries, including a two-year-old child being at risk of disability in Lyon. Furthermore, there were reports of direct attacks on law enforcement officers with fireworks, causing a person to be hospitalized in intensive care due to injuries.
