Jewel Thief's Unusual Tactics
32-year-old Jaythan Gilder swallowed costly earrings after being apprehended for stealing from a Tiffany & Co store. He claimed to work for an NBA player and fled with jewelry worth over $1 million.
Police found Gilder on the highway, where he was arrested after swallowing 'items'. The stolen jewelry will be returned to the jeweler after passing through his system.
Gilder regretted his decision, admitting it was not wise to swallow the loot, stating 'I should have thrown them out the window'.
