Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu was arrested in a corruption investigation, accused of leading a criminal organization, bribery, fraud, and aiding a terrorist group.

Dozens of riot police officers were present at his house during the arrest, with authorities also ordering the arrest of around one hundred other individuals, including journalists and businessmen.
