valencia, spain - Intense rainfall in Valencia region leads to flooding, with residents urged to stay safe and avoid crossing roads.

Intense Rainfall Causes Flooding in Valencia

The Valencia region in Spain is experiencing heavy rainfall and flooding due to the weather phenomenon DANA, with up to 100 liters per square meter expected overnight. Some areas have already received over 300 liters per square meter in three days, saturating the ground and causing rivers to rise. The mayor of Eslida in Castellón has closed riverbanks to prevent danger to residents.

Residents are concerned following previous flooding in late October. Streets in Alcudia de Veo have turned into rivers, and schools have closed as a precaution. Authorities have canceled outdoor activities and medical appointments, urging residents to avoid travel. In Almeria, channels have overflowed, and Sorbas mayor warns of the dangers of crossing streets. Code yellow is in effect in six regions due to expected rainfall.
