Former England and Liverpool player Andy Carroll, 36, has made a surprising move to join sixth-tier club Dagenham & Redbridge after departing Bordeaux. Carroll expressed his excitement for the new challenge and emphasized the importance of playing regular football.

Carroll's Career Highlights

Carroll, who started at Newcastle United, became Liverpool's then-record signing in 2011. Despite struggles, he played for West Ham United, Newcastle, Reading, West Bromwich Albion, and Amiens before his Bordeaux stint.

Club Ownership Change

On the same day as Carroll's signing, Dagenham & Redbridge announced a complete ownership transfer to a group of Qatari investors. The club aims to climb back up the English leagues after recent relegations.
