christchurch - A cat named Mittens unexpectedly ends up taking multiple flights due to a mishap, causing distress to its owners.

Mittens' Unexpected Journey

The Neas family planned to move from Christchurch, New Zealand, to Melbourne, Australia on January 13. Mittens, their 8-year-old Maine Coon cat, was supposed to fly in the plane's cargo hold. However, upon arrival in Melbourne, they were informed that Mittens had been flown back to New Zealand unknowingly.

After two additional flights and 15 hours of travel, Mittens and her family were finally reunited. Mittens, although a bit thinner, was in good spirits. The family expressed relief and joy at having her back.

Air New Zealand, the airline involved, has apologized and promised to refund all expenses related to the incident, ensuring such mishaps will not occur in the future.
