carlisle - A 20-year-old British man won almost 9 million euros in the lottery but decided to go back to work repairing a blocked drain the next day.

Surprising Lottery Win

James Clarkson, a 20-year-old from Carlisle, couldn't believe his eyes when he checked the lottery numbers on January 5th. He had spent the night at his girlfriend's place and realized he had guessed all six numbers correctly, winning a staggering 8,946,656 euros. Despite his disbelief, he celebrated with family and friends, booking a luxurious vacation and buying designer items. He also plans to pay off his parents' mortgage and get himself an Audi car. As a Manchester City fan, he also wants to purchase a season ticket.

Returning to Work

The day after his big win, Clarkson went straight back to work, repairing blocked drains in the cold. He explained, 'The morning after I found out I had won, I was fixing blocked drains in the cold. It was a bit grim, but that's reality. I'm not going to stop working, I'm too young. I know that might sound crazy to some.' Clarkson, currently training to be a heating engineer, expressed his determination to continue working, citing the need for a purpose in life. He mentioned that his father would never allow him to quit working, pointing out that many millionaires still work and that having a reason to get up every day is essential.
