Newcastle Makes Bid for Sesko Amid Complex Isak Situation

Newcastle United has officially submitted a bid to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko as the club navigates through the complexities of Alexander Isak's uncertain future. Manager Eddie Howe expressed support for Isak while also showing interest in acquiring Sesko.

Official Bid for Sesko

Sources have revealed that Newcastle has accelerated talks with RB Leipzig to secure Sesko, a player also on Manchester United's radar. The club has reportedly offered up to £69.7 million ($92.5 million) for the striker.

Isak's Uncertain Future

Newcastle recently rejected a £110 million ($146 million) bid from Liverpool for Isak, who missed the pre-season tour due to a minor injury. Howe acknowledged the complexity of the situation and expressed his desire to see Isak remain at the club.

Manager's Perspective

Howe, speaking at a press conference in Seoul, emphasized the club's focus on quality over quantity in player recruitment. Despite facing challenges in the transfer market, Newcastle remains competitive in securing top talent.

Sesko's Potential Move

Reports suggest that Sesko prefers a move to St James' Park over Old Trafford. Newcastle has reportedly made a €75 million ($86.9 million) bid for Sesko, with additional add-ons. Howe refrained from commenting on individual targets but emphasized the club's commitment to bringing in top players.
