Liverpool Signs Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen

Liverpool, the Premier League champions, have officially announced the signing of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen following Trent Alexander-Arnold's departure to Real Madrid.

Frimpong's Contract Details

The 24-year-old Netherlands international had a €35 million release clause in his contract, allowing him to join Liverpool. The deal will be paid in three separate annual instalments after the transfer window opens on June 1.

Role at Liverpool

While Frimpong is seen as a replacement for Alexander-Arnold externally, sources reveal that Liverpool coach Arne Slot considers him a versatile option on the right flank. Frimpong could cover for Mohamed Salah during the African Cup of Nations.

Frimpong's Background and Achievements

Frimpong, who spent nine years at Manchester City's youth academy before joining Celtic and then Leverkusen, qualifies as a home-grown player in England. He played a significant role in Leverkusen's recent successes, including winning the Bundesliga title and reaching the Europa League final.
