Inter Miami Secures Ecuadorian Striker Allen Obando

Inter Miami has signed Ecuadorian forward Allen Obando on loan from Barcelona AC for the rest of the 2025 MLS season, with a chance to make the deal permanent in December. The 18-year-old player is set to join the club upon receiving his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa.

Player's Background

  • Allen Obando began his career with Barcelona de Guayaquil in Ecuador, debuting at 16 years old.
  • He has represented Ecuador in various international tournaments, including the 2024 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament and the 2025 South American U20 Championship.
  • With four goals and one assist in 10 appearances for the national team, Obando made his senior debut in March 2024.

Obando expressed his enthusiasm about the move, stating, "I'm excited to have the opportunity to continue my career with a new challenge at a great club like Inter Miami. I'm ready to contribute and help the team achieve our goals this season."

Inter Miami traded $100,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM) and $50,000 in 2026 GAM to Vancouver Whitecaps FC for Obando's discovery rights.

Obando joins other new signings at Inter Miami, such as Gonzalo Luján, Maximiliano Falcón, and Fafà Picault. The club currently holds the third position in the MLS Eastern Conference and has advanced to the Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals against LAFC.
