- Galatasaray are in talks with Manchester City for a potential transfer of Manuel Akanji, while also eyeing Ederson. City may consider letting Akanji go if their valuation is met.

Galatasaray Eyeing Manuel Akanji and Ederson from Man City

Galatasaray have initiated contact with Manchester City regarding a possible transfer deal for defender Manuel Akanji. The Turkish club is also interested in City's goalkeeper, Ederson.

Akanji's Key Role at Man City

Manuel Akanji, a pivotal part of Pep Guardiola's squad since 2022, is being sought after by Galatasaray. The 30-year-old, who has two years left on his contract, has been a versatile player for City, excelling as both a centre-back and right-back.

Galatasaray's Transfer Plans

Galatasaray is targeting defensive reinforcements before the Turkish Super Lig transfer deadline on Sept. 12. Coach Okan Buruk is keen on securing a defender who can play multiple positions, making Akanji an attractive prospect.

The Turkish side is also considering alternatives if a deal for Ederson falls through. They have shown interest in Diogo Costa from FC Porto and Yann Sommer from Inter Milan.

Potential Impact on Man City

If Ederson leaves, City may turn their attention to Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is available after losing his starting position at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazilian goalkeeper was absent from the recent match against Wolves due to illness, with James Trafford taking his place in the lineup.
