washington - The United States still hopes that the planned summit will continue with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Washington is also preparing for a difficult negotiation process, said White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders.
'We are still hopeful that the meeting will take place and we will continue to follow that path, but at the same time we are prepared for this to be difficult negotiations,' Sanders said in an interview with Fox News.
North Korea has threatened to cancel the summit between leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump on June 12th. Pyongyang is angry about the military exercises that the Americans hold up to May 25 with South Korea. The reconciliation talks scheduled for Wednesday between senior officials from North and South will not take place.
