US freeze funds for Palestinians

World January 5, 2018 21:54

washington - The US government has frozen funds for a UN agency that helps Palestinian refugees. Three Western diplomats have said this to the American news site Axios.

It would be an amount of 125 million dollars (about 103 million euros). According to the diplomats, the money would actually be transferred to the UN organization UNRWA on 1 January. Washington is still keeping the millions behind. In any case, until President Donald Trump made the decision about whether or not to stop the financial support for the Palestinians.

Earlier this week, Trump threatened to stop the money supply to the Palestinian Authority (PA) via Twitter. As long as, according to Trump, they do not cooperate in bringing peace with Israel, he does not want to pay 'hundreds of millions to the Palestinians. '
