Turkish journalist Dündar survives attack

- The Turkish journalist Can Dündar on Friday survived an attack in front of the court in Istanbul. He was unharmed when he was shot. The perpetrator was arrested, according to Turkish media.

Dündar is editor of the newspaper Cumhuriyet. Along with Erdem Gül, the correspondent of the newspaper in the capital Ankara, he is on trial. They are among others accused of espionage, attempts to overthrow the government and supporting a terrorist organization. Those allegations followed revelations about Turkish arms supplies to rebels in Syria.

,, It was right in front of me, I've seen the attacker, '' said the journalist. A fellow reporter, apparently during the attack stood beside him, injured his leg. Dunbar was in court for the fourth hearing in his case.
