Trump with Finnish counterpart Niinistö

helsinki - US President Trump embarked on a meeting with his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinistö in Helsinki in the run-up to his meeting with his Russian counterpart on Monday. Trump is in Helsinki for his first official summit with President Putin of Russia. It starts in the presidential palace at 12.20.

Trump tweeted Monday that relations between his country and Russia have never been so bad. This is due to long years of American stupidity and the insane witch hunt. Trump talks about investigations into possible ties between Trump's entourage when he was presidential candidate and Russia.

The meeting Monday with Putin is overshadowed by this case. Trump sees it as a tinkered and unjust attack on his person and on the election results with which he won the presidency in 2016. Russian hackers would have tried to harm the Democratic Party in the US on the initiative of Kremlin.
